Special Project in Action: Custom-Made Couplings for the Mining Industry

A client from the mining sector approached us with a very specific requirement: customized couplings for conveyor belts operating under extreme conditions. The technical specifications of the project were particularly demanding:

Motor power: 1,750 kWh
Rotational speed: 1,045 rpm
Assembly: With brake disc
Operating conditions: High dust presence, temperatures above 45 °C, continuous vibrations
- Coupling requirements: vibration absorption, torque-spike absorption, and minimal maintenance.
Our technical team thoroughly analyzed the application, simulated dynamic loads, and defined a customized configuration:
Design adapted to the client’s needs, which required repositioning the brake disc.
Hubs made of high-quality pearlitic and ductile iron to ensure extended service life.
Polyurethane elastic element, with customized Shore hardness, designed to absorb vibrations without compromising torque transmission.
Steel clamping ring for easy assembly and disassembly, enabling quick access to the insert.
Machining tolerances calibrated for a precision sliding fit, secured with set screws.
ATEX-compliant design.
Dynamic balancing to reduce vibrations, protect the system, and increase operational safety—resulting in lower wear and longer service life.
Low maintenance: no lubrication required, only periodic inspection of the components.
The delivery timeframe was 48 calendar days, meeting internal quality standards and the client’s technical validation.
